Board of Directors Membership Application
VCPEA is a coalition of individuals and organizations working cooperatively through public awareness, advocacy, and education to assure older Virginians live a life free of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Thank you for applying to the VCPEA Board of Directors! We appreciate your desire to donate your time and support VCPEA in its mission. Please review the Board member expectations and complete the following questions for consideration.
Board of Directors Responsibilities:
Supporting the Coalition in developing and implementing annual goals, objectives and a work plan
Communicating with Coalition on announcements and action proposals to achieve the purposes of the Coalition
Developing an annual budget, for approval at the first Board meeting of the new fiscal year
Authorizing and overseeing expenditure of funds and ensure that proper financial records are maintained
Attending meetings of the Board. Meetings are held virtually every other month. A Board Member who fails to attend three consecutive Board Meetings may be removed by a majority vote of the Board.
Participating in the planning and implementation of the annual conference as available
Serving on at least one committee in addition to the Annual Conference Committee. (Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Marketing & Outreach Committee, Education and Training Committee, Policy and Advocacy Committee)
Being an active participant and a proponent for the Coalition
Creating ways to work together better to be responsive to the issues of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation
Utilizing knowledgeable and willing individuals who are not Board members to participate in the work of the Coalition.
**VCPEA is not a direct service organization or a client-sharing format. Board member or their organization cannot financially benefit from their work with VCPEA.
