AARP Policy and Research: AARP Research supports AARP’s mission of helping people choose how they live as they age. Key issues we study include Social Security, Medicare, long-term care and caregiving, work and job security, healthy living, technology and relationships.
Administration for Community Living: The ACL is a federal program, created around the fundamental principle that older adults and people of all ages with disabilities should be able to live where they choose, with the people they choose, and with the ability to participate fully in their communities. By funding services and supports provided primarily by networks of community-based organizations, and with investments in research, education, and innovation, ACL helps make this principle a reality for millions of Americans.
Advancing States (formerly the National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities): ADvancing States was founded in 1964 under the name National Association of State Units on Aging (NASUA). In 2019, the association changed its name to ADvancing States. Today, ADvancing States represents the nation’s 56 state and territorial agencies on aging and disabilities and long-term services and supports directors. ADvancing States supports visionary leadership, the advancement of systems innovation and the articulation of national policies that support long-term services and supports for older adults and people with disabilities.
Alzheimer's Association: The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging: The ABA Commission on Law and Aging leads the association in strengthening and securing the legal rights, dignity, autonomy, quality of life and quality of care of older adults. The Commission accomplishes its work through research, policy development, advocacy, education, training and through assistance to lawyers, bar associations and others working on aging issues.
Center of Excellence on Elder Abuse and Neglect University of California, Irvine-School of Medicine: The Center is committed to eliminating the abuse and mistreatment of our community's elders, offering information on training, education, awareness building, and research.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau offers resources to help professionals, family members, and older adults protect themselves against fraud and plan for their financial future.
Elder Justice Coalition: The Elder Justice Coalition is a national, nonpartisan group of over 3,000 members. They are a resource to Congress, the Administration, media, and the general public to raise awareness of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation and help develop and advocate for national policies to end this crisis.
Elder Justice Initiative: The mission of the Elder Justice Initiative, run through the Federal Department of Justice, is to support and coordinate the Department’s enforcement and programmatic efforts to combat elder abuse, neglect and financial fraud and scams that target our nation’s older adults.
Medicare: Medicare.gov offers information about enrollment, services, providers, and fraud.
National Adult Protective Services Association: The National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) is a national non-profit organization with members in all fifty states, DC and the territories. Formed in 1989, the goal of NAPSA is to provide Adult Protective Services (APS) programs a forum for sharing information, solving problems, and improving the quality of services for victims of elder and vulnerable adult mistreatment.
National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life: NCALL, a national project of End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin: The Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence, is committed to creating a world that respects the dignity of older adults and enhances the safety and quality of life of older victims and survivors of abuse.
National Long-Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center: The National Long-Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center (NORC) provides support, technical assistance, and training to the 53 State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Programs and their statewide networks. NORC’s objectives are to enhance the skills, knowledge, and management capacity of the State programs to enable them to effectively represent resident interests in both individual and systems advocacy.
Office for Victims of Crime: OVC and the U.S. Department of Justice are committed to ensuring that older Americans have access to victim services so that they can experience a sense of security, peace of mind, and the support of their community.
Office on Violence Against Women: The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) provides federal leadership in developing the nation's capacity to reduce violence against women and administer justice for and strengthen services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
